Zwack Unicum Plc. had already been active in the international markets before World War II, exporting to numerous European and American countries. Today, just as in the past, expanding its brands beyond Hungary's borders remains a top priority for the company. This is proven by the dynamic growth of Zwack’s exports, which tripled between 2000 and 2012, reaching more than 35 countries worldwide.
Zwack products are reaching new markets each year, with a significant increase in the number of countries where we managed to establish solid distribution networks. Currently, the Zwack Brands can be found in more than 35 countries across five continents. Although the range and popularity of products vary by country, the Unicum family, as well as Fütyülős, Vilmos, and Kosher Slivovitz, are the key drivers of our export sales. The Unicum family alone accounts for over 85% of total export sales, which intern represent at least 12% of gross sales, and we aim to increase it further.
In addition to Italy and Germany, we are focusing on neighboring countries like Romania, Slovakia, and Austria, where we are increasingly successful in terms of brand awareness and sales. We work closely with our largest distributors based on well-thought-out and mutually supported strategies and annual brand targets. Year by year, we participate in prestigious international exhibitions, professional events, and local festivals, offering insights into the world of Unicum.
